Big news for craft beer enthusiasts – Singapore’s very own Level33 has officially made it into the Guinness World Records! Perched 149 metres above sea level on the 33rd floor of Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 1, this sky-high brewery is now recognized as the world’s highest urban microbrewery, brewing fresh, craft beer against the backdrop of Singapore’s stunning skyline.
A Feat of Engineering and Craftsmanship
Level33 has been a hotspot for beer lovers since its launch in 2010, known for its crisp brews and unparalleled city views. But getting 12 large brewing tanks up to the 33rd floor was no easy task. Founder Martin Bem revealed that the massive equipment couldn’t fit into the lift, requiring the team to crane it up instead – even dismantling part of the building’s facade to make it happen. Now, more than a decade later, the effort has paid off, with Level33 surpassing the one-million-litre mark in beer production.
A Toast to Innovation
From its signature fruity blonde lagers to a banana-scented wheat beer and rich house porter, Level33 continues to push the boundaries of craft brewing. The bar-restaurant also integrates brewing by-products into its innovative food menu, making it a true destination for both beer and food lovers.
Official Guinness World Records Ceremony
On March 12, Level33 will unveil its official Guinness World Records plaque, marking the culmination of months of meticulous paperwork and site inspections. This achievement isn’t just a win for the bar, but a major milestone for Singapore’s growing craft beer scene.
So, the next time you sip on a freshly brewed pint at Level33, know that you’re not just enjoying top-tier craft beer – you’re also part of a world record-breaking experience. Cheers to that!
