Roast duck with stout, pork jowl with 1664 Blanc, or wood-fired pork belly with a cold lager: Carlsberg and Grab’s latest Singapore collaboration gives dinner plans a beer-pairing twist.

Announced on 28 September 2026, the campaign brings brewmaster-curated food-and-beer deals to 28 restaurants in Singapore through Grab Dine Out. It runs until 25 October 2026, with Carlsberg brewmaster Zoran Gojkovic behind the pairings.

Three places to start your pairing plans

The useful part of this collaboration is its dish-by-dish approach. Rather than choosing a beer in isolation, diners can pick a pairing built around what they actually want to eat. Here are three restaurants highlighted in the launch announcement.

Empress: roast duck and Sichuan-style chicken

At Empress, the contemporary Chinese restaurant overlooking the Singapore River, the suggested match for Empress Roast Duck is Connor’s Stout Porter. The campaign pairs the stout’s roasty malt character with the duck’s smoky, lacquered skin.

For Popcorn Chicken Spicy Sichuan Style, the choice is Carlsberg Danish Pilsner: a crisper counterpoint to a rich, spicy plate. If your dinner plans lean towards Chinese classics, this is the pairing line-up to investigate first.

Kinki: pork jowl, pepper steak and Japanese fusion

Over on Collyer Quay, Kinki puts two different styles of beer alongside its Japanese fusion dishes. Jeju Pork Jowl is matched with 1664 Blanc, with the beer’s citrus notes intended to contrast with the richness of the pork.

The other highlighted pairing brings Saikoro Pepper Steak together with Sapporo. The campaign describes the lager’s light, balanced finish as a complement to the steak. These are distinct pairings, so check which dish-and-drink deal you are selecting in the app.

Fireplace by Bedrock: wood-fired pork belly

At Fireplace by Bedrock, the featured dish is 6-Hour Wood-Fired Pork Belly, paired with Carlsberg Smooth Draught. The idea is contrast: the beer’s mellow finish alongside the meat’s deep, smoky flavours.

For diners choosing a restaurant around a substantial, fire-cooked main, this is the campaign’s most straightforward starting point.

Who is behind the pairings?

Carlsberg brewmaster Zoran Gojkovic travelled across Southeast Asia to meet chefs and restaurant partners as part of the project. The Singapore selection draws on five beers from the group’s portfolio: 1664 Blanc, Connor’s Stout Porter, Sapporo, Carlsberg Smooth Draught and Carlsberg Danish Pilsner.

The pairings above are the campaign’s recommendations, not a HotInSG tasting verdict. Think of them as a starting point for choosing dinner, rather than a rule about what you must drink with each dish.

How to get the Carlsberg x Grab Dine Out deals

  1. Open Grab and look for the dedicated Carlsberg selection within its dining offers.
  2. Browse the participating restaurants and choose a food-and-beer pairing deal.
  3. Check the listing carefully for the price, what is included and any redemption restrictions before pre-purchasing.
  4. Redeem at the restaurant according to the deal’s instructions.

The launch release names three featured restaurants, rather than listing all 28. Use the in-app selection for the full line-up and current availability. It also does not specify a universal discount, serving size or booking policy, so do not assume every deal works the same way.
